| Tavarnelle Val di Pesa |
There are two particularly interesting ways of reaching Tavarnelle Val di Pesa: either go via Badia di Passignano
along the road from Montefioralle (part of which is unpaved), go down to Sambuca and then climb again; or continue along the Chiantigiana and take the splendid panoramic road which goes
to San Donato in Poggio. |
| Barberino
Val d'Elsa |
Barberino can be reached from Tavarnelle by driving along the via Cassia towards Siena, or from San Donato
in Poggio via Cortine and the Castello di Tignano along a panoramic but unpaved road. |
| San Casciano Val di Pesa |
Driving along the via Cassia towards Florence for about 15 km you come to San Casciano Val di Pesa, an important
medieval centre that developed as a fiefdom of the Fiorentine bishops. |
